The flag of Chechnya is a horizontal tricolor of green, white, and red. The green stripe represents Islam, the white symbolizes purity and peace, and the red symbolizes the blood shed by the Chechen people in defense of their homeland. In the middle of the white stripe is a red star with eight points, which symbolizes the eight historical regions of Chechnya.
The flag was officially adopted on November 23, 2004, by the Parliament of the Chechen Republic. It replaced the previous flag, which had a similar design but lacked the red star in the center.
The flag has been used by the Chechen people as a symbol of their national identity and aspirations for independence. It is often displayed at official events, government buildings, and public gatherings in Chechnya.
